Angels acquire Rich Hill from Red Sox

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim acquired pitcher Rich Hill from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for cash considerations on Tuesday.

The Angels added Hill to the major league roster and optioned pitcher Michael Kohn to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Hill went 3-3 with two saves and a 3.23 ERA in 25 games with Triple-A Pawtucket this season. He went 1-2 with a 6.28 ERA in 63 relief appearances with the Indians in 2013.

The left-hander is 24-22 with a 4.74 ERA in 181 MLB games with the Cubs, Orioles, Red Sox and Indians.

Kohn went 2-1 with a 3.04 ERA in 25 games with the Angels this season.
