Red Sox release Capuano

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox released pitcher Chris Capuano on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old Capuano went 1-1 with a 4.55 ERA in 28 appearances this season. He was designated for assignment last week.

The left-hander is 74-84 with a 4.28 ERA in 266 career games (209 starts) with the Diamondbacks, Brewers, Mets, Dodgers and Red Sox.
