Orioles call up P Ramon Ramirez

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - The Baltimore Orioles selected the contract of pitcher Ramon Ramirez from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Ramirez has gone 1-0 with a 3.65 ERA in nine relief appearances this season for Triple-A Tacoma and Norfolk.

The 32-year-old right-hander has a 23-21 record with a 3.42 ERA in 423 career game across eight seasons with Colorado, Kansas City, Boston, San Francisco and the New York Mets.

Baltimore optioned right-handed pitcher Evan Meek to Norfolk. Meek, an All- Star in 2010, has gone 0-3 with a 7.47 ERA in 15 games this season.
