Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - David Wright was a late scratch from Friday's game against the Pirates and will travel back to New York to undergo an MRI on his left shoulder.
The shoulder has been bothering Wright for the past three weeks. He originally hurt it diving head-first on a stolen base at Citi Field on June 13.
Wright, 31, is hitting .277 with six home runs and 41 RBI across 79 games this season for the Mets.
Utility man Eric Campbell replaced Wright in the lineup Friday.
