Phillies place C Ruiz on concussion DL

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Phillies placed catcher Carlos Ruiz on the seven-day disabled list with concussion-like symptoms on Friday.
Ruiz was hit in the head by a pitch during the 11th inning of Thursday night's 14-inning, 5-3 win over the Miami Marlins.
The 35-year-old was batting .257 with two home runs and 14 RBI across 66 games for the Phillies this season.
Philadelphia also selected the contract of catcher Koyie Hill from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and designated outfielder Zach Collier for assignment.
