Royals' Aoki lands on DL

Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Royals placed outfielder Nori Aoki on the 15-day disabled list with a groin injury.
The Royals purchased the contract of outfielder Justin Maxwell from Triple-A Omaha to replace Aoki on the roster.
Aoki is batting .263 with 12 doubles and 14 RBI in 68 games this season.
Maxwell hit .138 with two RBI in 16 games for the Royals earlier this year.
