Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Braves placed pitcher Gavin Floyd on the 15-day disabled list Friday after he suffered a fractured elbow in Thursday's game against the Washington Nationals.
After the first pitch of the seventh inning, which Washington's Jayson Werth fouled off, Floyd flexed his arm and then left the game.
Atlanta announced after the game that X-rays revealed a fracture of the olecranon in his right elbow.
Floyd was making just his ninth start of the season after returning from Tommy John surgery that he had while a member of the White Sox last May.
He is 2-2 with a 2.65 earned run average over his nine games.
To replace Floyd on the roster, the Braves recalled pitcher Ryan Buchter from Triple-A Gwinnett.
