Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jimmy Rollins passed Hall-of-Famer Mike Schmidt for the most hits in franchise history on Saturday.

Rollins lined a 3-1 fastball off Cubs starter Edwin Jackson into right field in the fifth inning to become the Phillies all-time leader with 2,235 career hits. He accomplished the feat in 2,105 games with the club.

Schmidt's record came during the 1989 season and lasted 25 years.

Rollins was greeted on the field by Schmidt, who handed Rollins his bat and raised his arm. The rest of the team then joined Rollins at first base for a brief celebration.
