Bayern has first post-Haskell workout

Del Mar, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Thursday morning at Del Mar, Bayern posted his first workout since winning the $1 million Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park on July 27.
Trained by Bob Baffert, Bayern worked four furlongs over Del Mar's main track in 48 3/5 seconds.
Bayern, owned by Kaleem Shah, Inc., has four wins in seven lifetime starts for $1,077,680. The colt did not start as a 2-year-old in 2013.
The 3-year-old won his first two career starts to begin the year followed by a third in the Arkansas Derby. He finished first in the Derby Trial but was disqualified to second.
After finishing ninth in the Preakness Stakes on May 17, Bayern won by seven lengths the seven-furlong Woody Stephens Stakes on the Belmont Stakes program on June 7.
