Saratoga Springs, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Leading 3-year-old filly Untapable posted a five-furlong workout Monday morning at Saratoga's Oklahoma training track.
Trained by Steve Asmussen, Untapable worked the five furlongs in 1:01.35 on a surface listed as good. The filly is a possible starter in the Haskell Invitational on July 27 at Monmouth Park versus colts and geldings.
Owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds, Untapable is coming off a 9 1/4-length victory in the Mother Goose Stakes on June 28 at Belmont Park. She won the Kentucky Oaks on May 2 by 4 1/2 lengths.
Untapable began the year with consecutive victories at Fair Grounds in the Rachel Alexandra and Fair Grounds Oaks. She's earned $1,304,725 in eight lifetime starts with six wins.
Also working Monday over the Oklahoma training track was champion colt Will Take Charge. The 4-year-old colt, trained by D. Wayne Lukas, covered five furlongs in 59.36 seconds, the fastest time of the day for the distance.
Will Take Charge, owned by Willis Horton and Three Chimneys Farm, was second in his last start in the Stephen Foster Handicap on June 14 at Churchill Downs. He previously won the Oaklawn Handicap on April 12 and was sixth at Churchill in the Alysheba Stakes on May 2.
The colt opened the season with a pair of second-place finishes in both the Donn and Santa Anita Handicaps.
