The Toronto Maple Leafs signed defenseman Luke Schenn to a three-year, entry-level contract on Tuesday.
Schenn was the Leafs' fifth-overall pick in the 2008 draft from the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League.
In seven preseason contests, the 18-year-old scored a regulation goal and added a shootout-deciding tally.
"Luke's got a bright future in the NHL and we are very excited to have him signed to a contract," said general manager Cliff Fletcher.
