Carolina right wing Scott Walker had successful surgery on his left hand Monday morning. The procedure was needed to repair a torn ligament in the injured hand.
The 35-year-old Walker registered 14 goals and 18 assists in 58 games for the Hurricanes during the 2007-08 season. He also collected a team-high 115 penalty minutes.
Walker is expected to miss up to six weeks of action.
