John Madden scored a short-handed goal late in the third period to help lift the New Jersey Devils to a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers in the final preseason game for both clubs.
David Clarkson, Bobby Holik and Brian Rolston also tallied for the Devils, who will open up their season next Friday at home against the New York Islanders.
Martin Brodeur stopped 18-of-21 shots to earn the win.
Simon Gagne, Mike Richards and Daniel Briere each scored a goal for the Flyers, who begin the regular season next Saturday hosting the New York Rangers.
Martin Biron took the loss, allowing four goals on 29 shots.
