The Dallas Stars will aim to avoid a third straight loss this evening, as they receive a visit from the Tampa Bay Lightning to American Airlines Center.

Dallas' consecutive setbacks come on the heels of winning four of six. After a shootout loss versus St. Louis on Wednesday gave the Stars a point for a third game in a row (2-0-1), they were dealt a 5-2 setback by the Coyotes last night.

Brenden Morrow and Mike Ribeiro each had a goal for the Stars, who are 5-3-4 at home this year, including 2-0-1 in their last three.

"We've been frustrated all year with putting a string of wins together," said Morrow. "You're not going to win a lot of games when you're not competing for the whole 60 [minutes]."

Marty Turco started in net, but was pulled late in the second period after giving up four goals on 19 shots. Alex Auld finished the game between the pipes and stopped nine shots.

Dallas also saw the return of defender Nicklas Grossman last night after he had sat out the previous two games with a groin injury.

The Lightning will look to string together consecutive wins following Friday night's 5-1 victory over the John Tortorella-coached Rangers. It marked Tortorella's first game versus his old club, which he coached for seven seasons before being fired following the conclusion of the 2007-08 season.

Kurtis Foster scored twice in last night's win, Steven Stamkos added his team- leading 16th tally and Mike Smith made 26 saves for the Lightning, who had lost three of four coming in.

Martin St. Louis added three assists to give him a pair of goals and eight helpers over a six-game points streak.

"It was a really solid effort from everyone," said Tampa Bay coach Rick Tocchet. "We had a lot of energy and you could tell there was a lot of bounce in their steps. We had some guys step up [Friday] and it was a good effort.

Steve Downie and Paul Szczechura also scored for the Lightning, who were without defenseman Mattias Ohlund for a sixth game in a row due to a lower- body injury

Tampa Bay notched a 2-4 home win over Dallas last year, giving them a victory in two of the last three meetings. The Stars, though, have still won six of the last nine matchups in the series.

The Lightning have won two straight and three of their last four in Dallas.
