The Pittsburgh Penguin will take aim at a fourth straight victory when they visit the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum for an afternoon battle between Atlantic Division rivals.

The Penguins suffered through a four-game losing streak earlier this month, but the defending Stanley Cup champions responded with five wins in their next six games.

Pittsburgh reeled off a third consecutive win with Wednesday's triumph over visiting Montreal. It marks the Pens' first three-game winning streak since the club won seven in a row from October 8-23.

Sidney Crosby registered a goal and an assist to lead the Penguins to the 3-1 decision over the Canadiens. It was the first multi-point game for Pittsburgh's captain since he had one goal and two assists against Boston on November 14.

Bill Guerin and Sergei Gonchar also scored for the Pens. Marc Andre-Fleury benefited from a strong defensive effort and needed to make only 18 saves to earn the win.

"We did a great job. Throughout the whole game, there was no real letdown," Crosby said. "I thought we played a good 60 minutes. There was a lot of good things to come out of that game for sure."

Penguins forward Tyler Kennedy will miss his 11th straight game with a groin injury today. Defenseman Kris Letang will also sit out for the ninth consecutive contest with a shoulder injury. Both players are listed as day-to- day.

Pittsburgh is 9-4-0 as the guest this season and has won its last two road contests.

The Islanders come into today having dropped three of four and seven of their last 11 games. New York played division rival Philadelphia close in Wednesday's home test, but wound up losing a 2-1 decision to the Flyers. Brian Boucher stopped 28-of-29 shots and Scott Hartnell scored late in regulation to lift Philly to victory.

Trent Hunter picked up the lone goal for the Islanders and extended his career-best point streak to eight games. Hunter has four goals and four assists during the run.

Martin Biron, who backstopped the Flyers for two-plus seasons, took the loss in his first start against his former club since joining the Islanders, but he made 26 saves in a solid effort. Isles head coach Scott Gordon is expected to go with Dwayne Roloson in net today. Roloson stopped 58-of-61 shots in a 4-3 win against Toronto on Monday.

The Islanders are 5-3-2 as the host this year and had a four-game home winning streak halted by the Flyers. New York will play its next five contests on the road following this game, beginning with Saturday's tilt at New Jersey.

Pittsburgh posted a 4-3 shootout win over the Isles when the teams met at the Coliseum back on October 3. The Pens have taken three straight and seven of eight in the series overall and have won five of their last seven on Long Island.
