Few defenses have been able to slow down the Flames' Jarome Iginla in November. The Coyotes franchise hasn't been able to shut him down his whole career.

Calgary will look to ride Iginla's hot hand to a victory tonight against the visiting Coyotes at Pengrowth Saddledome.

The Flames are just 2-2-2 since a four-game win streak to begin November, but those numbers could be worse if it wasn't for Iginla. The forward has totaled 12 goals in 10 games this month, and followed up Saturday's hat trick versus the Kings by notching the game-tying goal with 18 seconds left in Monday's eventual 3-2 shootout loss to the Ducks.

Curtis Glencross also scored for the Flames and Miikka Kiprusoff made 29 saves.

"[The Ducks] had a good start and they scored a quick two goals," said Kiprusoff. "It's tough to come back after that, but we worked hard and played a pretty strong game."

The Flames are now two points back of the Avalanche for first place in the Northwest Division. They are 6-5-0 at home and begin a six-game road trip Friday at Detroit.

But first, Iginla will try to extend his career-long success over the Coyotes. Iginla's 30 goals in 47 games versus the franchise are his most against any one club and he also has 18 assists in those tests.

Kiprusoff, meanwhile, is 10-5-1 with a 2.43 goals-against average in his career versus the Coyotes.

Phoenix will hope this game doesn't turn into an offensive shootout after it lost Monday's game to Edmonton by a 4-0 margin. It marked the second time the Coyotes were shut out this year and first since October 10.

Ilya Bryzgalov made 21 saves in Phoenix's fifth loss in eight games, but the club couldn't get any of its 36 shots past Jeff Deslauriers.

"Their goalie played a great game so hat's off to him, but we didn't do the little things that we've been doing on the road the last two games," said Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle. "We just have to keep it simple and stay out of the box."

The Coyotes were down a man six times in the game, allowing one goal to end a string of 18 consecutive penalties killed off.

Martin Hanzal missed the game with an undisclosed injury and is questionable for tonight, while defenseman Ed Jovanovski has missed eight in a row due to a lower-body injury. He is traveling with the team but his return date is unknown.

The Coyotes are still without Zbynek Michalek (lower body) and Kurt Sauer (headaches) along the blueline as well.

Bryzgalov, who was 3-0-1 with a 2.00 GAA in his previous four starts, is 3-6-1 with a 3.22 GAA in 10 career games versus the Flames.

Though the Flames have won five of their last seven versus the Coyotes, Phoenix has claimed a victory in two straight and three of its last four in Calgary.
