Blue Jackets place D Commodore on IR

The Sports Network

The Columbus Blue Jackets placed defenseman Mike Commodore on injured reserve, retroactive to September 19, with a groin injury on Saturday.

To take his spot the Blue Jackets recalled defenseman Mathieu Roy from Syracuse of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis.

It will be Roy's first appearance with Columbus as he had spent the past five years with the Edmonton organization, which selected him in the 10th round of the 2003 draft. In 30 games with the Oilers, he had two goals and one assist with 57 penalty minutes.
