The series: Sabres lead 35-21-4.

The game: The Sabres were the last team to lose a game in regulation, dropping a 4-2 decision to Atlanta on Saturday. Thomas Vanek, who had missed two games with an apparent rib injury, is expected to return to the lineup. The Buffalo (N.Y.) News reported that Vanek got hit in the jaw with a puck Tuesday in Sunrise but should still play.
