St. Thomas Aquinas football: Broward's first consensus national champion after finishing atop the three major polls -- ESPN Rise Fab 50, the PrepNation.com National Prep Football Poll and USA Today -- and pummeling longtime nemesis Lakeland 56-7 in the Class 5A state championship game Friday night. The Raiders (15-0), who outscored opponents 695-117 to earn their second consecutive state title, got on the board with a 53-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Becker to Purdue-bound tight end Gabe Holmes and capped the scoring on Ronnie Kennedy's 8-yard touchdown run.

Bryan Bynes, Boyd Anderson boys' basketball: Bynes' 15 points in a victory over nationally-ranked Montverde Academy was highlighted by a soaring dunk over 7-foot center Ruslan Pateev.
Robert Burger, Dillard boys' basketball: Burger scored a team-high 23 points to help the reigning 5A state champions end Pine Crest's 28-game winning streak.
Alicia DeVaughn, South Broward girls' basketball: DeVaughn had 21 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks to hand American Heritage its first loss of the season.
Brandon Knight, Pine Crest boys' basketball: Knight scored a game-high 30 points in Kreul Classic quarterfinal loss to Dillard.
Quadeem Colvin, Deerfield Beach boys' basketball: Colvin had 15 points and six steals to lead the Bucks past reigning Kreul champion Palm Beach Dwyer.
Kenny Boynton Jr., American Heritage boys' basketball: Boynton scored a game-high 43 points in a win over Fort Myers Dunbar.
Kyle Chynoweth North Broward Prep boys' basketball: Chynoweth hit the go-ahead jumper and then made the game-saving block to help the Eagles upset Blanche Ely.
Sandra Garcia, American Heritage girls' basketball: Garcia had 17 points, but the Patriots (8-1) fell to reigning 6A champions South Broward in the Kreul Classic.
Ashley Oswald, St. Thomas girls' soccer: Oswald scored the game-winner in the Raiders' (14-1) 2-1 victory over reigning 6A state champions Palm Beach Wellington.
Andrea Rorscheib, West Broward girls' soccer: Rorscheib had four goals in victory over Hollywood Hills which lifted first-year Bobcats to 13-0-1.
Brittany D'Annunzio, Cardinal Gibbons girls' soccer: D'Annunzio scored off an assist from Kim Schumacher as the Chiefs beat Tampa Newsome 1-0 in Sarasota Tournament Final.
Chrissy Gratz, Archbishop McCarthy girls soccer: Gratz had three goals and an assist in victory over Palm Beach Central.
