Archbishop Carroll wide receiver Rodney Smith is among 32 finalists selected for the ``Jerry Rice High School Wide Receiver of the Year Award.''

The award will be presented to the nation's best high school wide receiver in January, and will be chosen by Hall of Famer Jerry Rice and Steve Clarkson, president of DeBartolo Sports University.

Smith, a Florida State commitment, is rated No. 62 among the top football prospects in the nation regardless of position by Rivals.com.

Smith (6-6, 202 pounds) has a 3.0 GPA and caught 35 passes for 703 yards and nine touchdowns to lead Archbishop Carroll to a 9-3 record and the Region 4-2A final.
