Koff siblings win individual titles

Andrew and Ana Koff celebrated another bowling championship together Monday.
The siblings each won individual titles of the District 14 bowling championships at Bird Bowl.
Andrew Koff, Miami-Dade County's top bowler at state last season, knocked down 731 pins to help Gulliver's boys finish the team runner-up. Ana knocked down 547 pins to win her first district crown and lead the Gulliver girls to a second-place finish for the second consecutive season.
Coral Reef won the boys' championship, beating Gulliver in the finals of the team competition. It is the Barracudas' first district title in three seasons.
Palmetto won the girls' competition, edging Gulliver in the finals. The Panthers won their second district title in three seasons.
North Miami Beach's Victoria Jones bowled the highest individual girls' score of the day at the District 12 meet at Pembroke Pines. Jones knocked down 633 pins to win the individual title and lead NMB to the girls' team crown, while her sister, Katherine Jones, finished second. Krop, led by individual champion Shawn Humphreys' 651 high series, won the boys' team championship.
Columbus won the boys' and Coral Park won the girls' championships of the District 13, which was also held at Bird Bowl. Coral Park's Melanie Gonzalez bowled a 459 series to win the individual girls' championship. Miami Springs' Andrew Meyers qualified for state individually by winning the boys' individual crown with a 621 series.

Girls' team results: 1. Palmetto, 2. Gulliver; Individual results: 1. Ana Koff (GUL) 547, 2. x-Kelsey Hudek (Killian) 533, 3. x-Betty Jo Martelli (Coral Reef) 517, 4. x-Brianna Pucko (Southridge) 508.
DISTRICT 13 -- Boys' teams advancing to state: 1. Columbus, 2. Coral Park; Individual results (x-individual state qualifiers): 1. x-Andrew Meyers (Miami Springs) 621; 2. x-Daniel Perez (Hialeah) 540; 3. x-Eric Fadin (HML) 511.
Girls' team results: 1. Coral Park, 2. Hialeah; Individual results: 1. Melanie Gonzalez (CP) 459; 2. Elizabeth Rodriguez (HIA) 454; 3. x-Meagan Hernandez (Braddock) 442; 4. Stephanie Lima 393; 5. x-Diana Leon (HML) 371; 6. Esteffania Najera (CP) 364; 7. x-Diane Perret (Miami High) 359.
