Hallandale Beach shut out Nova 49-0 on Friday night. The Chargers were led by the power running of Korvic Neat who ran 12 times for 212 yards.

''He was our leader out there tonight,'' Hallandale Beach coach Dameon Jones said of Neat.

The Chargers opened the scoring. Being pinned at their own 2 yard line on a 42 yard angled punt by the Titans' Joseph Wilson, the Chargers scored quickly. Two plays later, Neat ran 87 yards for the touchdown. Neat started up the middle, grabbed by two Titans defenders, then spun outside and outran the Titans defense up the sideline for the score and the early Chargers lead.

Leading 7-0, the Chargers picked off Titans quarterback Marcus Lewis and drove down the field, led by Neat (185 yards in the first half). The Chargers set up first-and-goal from the Titans 5-yard line. Joel West scored a touchdown on the next play, and the Chargers led 14-0.

After recovering a Titans fumble inside the 5-yard line, West scored from 2 yards out.

The Chargers defense led by Gregory Smith held the Titans to three and out, and the Chargers were on the move once again. Neat kept running the ball and the Chargers were down inside the Titans 10 yard line again. Jamal Guyton scored from 5 yards out, and the Chargers led 28-0 at the half.

The Chargers started the second half the same way they ended the first half. After the defense held the Titans, Hallandale quarterback Victor Marc and Neat led the Chargers down the field. Marc connected with Darby Lundy for a 39-yard touchdown pass, giving the Chargers a 35-0 lead.

Rashad Gaitor and the Chargers defense came on even stronger, forcing the Titans to another three and out. Marc would lead the Chargers one more time inside Titans' territory. Michael Anderson finished off the drive with a 16-yard touchdown run.

But the Titans would not give up, as Zach Joseph came in quarterback. After several completions to Sheldon Fidler, Joseph was intercepted by Anderson who returned it 46 yards for the score.

• South Plantation 24, Piper 0: South Plantation picked up its first District 10-6A win of the season at Bengals Stadium. The Paladins were led by a strong performance from junior running back Marcus Thompson, who finished the night with 166 yards on the ground on 25 carries and one touchdown.

''Thompson gave us a steady performance all night,'' said South Plantation coach Rick Maresco. ``Our offensive line opened up some nice holes for [Thompson].''

Thompson's touchdown capped off a 10-play drive with a 4-yard run, putting the Paladins up 10-0 at the 1:26 mark of the third quarter.

South Plantation (3-1, 1-0) were also led by sophomore quarterback Kyle Sinclair's 9 of 14 attempts for 124 yards. One completion went to Chris Denton from 29 yards out, giving the Paladins a 17-0 fourth quarter lead.

Piper (1-3, 0-1) was led on offensive by senior wide receiver Nick Rogers' 24 yards on the ground and 12 yards receiving.

• Westminster Academy 35, Academy High 6: According to Westminster coach Jameson Allen, it was attitude more than talent that enabled the Lions to beat Academy High. The win raised the Lions record to 4-0. Academy, a first-year program, fell to 0-4.

''We have a different style this year, and the kids have bought in to it,'' said Jameson, who is in his first year. ``We have a lot of different formations, and the players are really having fun.''
