ALLEN FACTORS HIGHLY
IN IRISH TURNAROUND
Former Hialeah-Miami Lakes star running back Armando Allen's high school career ended prematurely when he got hurt prior to his senior season.
Two years later, the former U.S. Army All-American, is making his mark at one of college football's most tradition-rich schools.
Allen is the leading running back at Notre Dame this season, figuring highly in the Irish's 3-1 start.
Allen has run for 205 yards on 41 carries and has a touchdown. Notre Dame won only three games all of last season.

STRAUSS KEEPS
RAIDERS ROLLING
Gulliver senior quarterback Michael Strauss was thrust into the starting role late last season. The Raiders eventually were ousted in the first round of the playoffs.
Strauss, however, has flourished so far this season as the starter, and has Gulliver dreaming of a chance to play for a state title.
Strauss entered Friday's game at Key West as Miami-Dade County's leading passer. He has completed 44 of 64 passes for 789 yards and nine touchdowns.
NEARLY UNTOUCHABLE
DEFENSE SO FAR
For the second consecutive season, La Salle has a chance to start its season 5-0. The Royal Lions will try to accomplish the feat Saturday when they travel to Pine Crest. La Salle's defense will face its toughest so far this season against a prolific Panthers' offense. However, La Salle has three shutouts so far and has only given up six points this season.
While Sam Miller, Sam Gervais and Michael Dallas have received plenty of accolades for being three of the top prospects for the Class of 2010, freshman Brady Hall has emerged as a potential star for the Class of 2012. Hall has run for 343 yards and seven touchdowns on 66 carries.
