Five things to watch in Miami-Dade next week
1. ROAD TRIP
North Miami Beach tries to restore some hometown pride for Miami-Dade County when it travels to New Orleans to take on 22-time Louisiana state champion John Curtis next Saturday at Nicholls State University.
2. MEASURING STICK
The cross-country season's early measuring stick races take place Friday and Saturday in Titusville as the best runners around the state compete in the ninth annual FLRunners.com Invitational.
3. DREADNAUGHT CITY
Killian's impressive football start will be put to the test Friday as the Cougars try to win at one of the toughest football sites in the state -- Lakeland.
4. GETTING CLOSER
With districts quickly approaching, Archbishop Curley hosts its Golf Invitational at Miami Shores Country Club next Friday.
5. TEST YOUR MIGHT
Some Miami-Dade volleyball teams will take the challenge of playing in the Orlando Bishop Moore and Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons tournaments next weekend.
