FOOTBALL
Meline commits to Tennessee: Ted Meline has yet to play a game for his new school, North Miami, never played one for his old school Booker T. Washington and was limited in the action he saw last year at Westlake Prep (now Woods Haven Prep).
But that didn't stop the University of Tennessee from accepting a commitment from the Pioneers' 6-3, 170-pound receiver this week.
Meline, who has had limited playing time at the varsity level in high school, joined Delvin Jones of Palmetto, Michael Palardy from St. Thomas Aquinas, Ralph Williams of Southridge and Jose Jose from Central as early commitments to Tennessee.
Meline's move to North Miami during the summer came with a snag when the Pioneers had to wait for all his paperwork to go through, which prevented him from getting on the field.
North Miami did, however, watch him play during summer practice, and while he has plenty to work on, they saw some positives.
