Gulliver Prep, boys' basketball: The Raiders won the George Washington Bracket of the 2008 KSA Holiday Tournament in Orlando. Gulliver beat Georgia's Lakeview Prep 66-42 in the championship game.

Andre del Castillo, Ferguson, boys' basketball: Del Castillo led the Falcons with 25 points to help deliver the first win of the season.
Kevin Burgos, Westwood Christian, boys' basketball: Burgos had a game-high 21 points to led Westwood to a 72-34 win over Bolsa Grande (Calif.).
Naomie Fequiere, North Miami Beach, girls' basketball: Fequiere had 29 points (including two three-pointers) and two steals in a 50-40 win against Langley (Va.).
Alyssa Baron, Gulliver, girls' basketball: Baron had 25 points and eight assists in the Raiders' 43-36 win against Everglades.
Alex Wethy, Columbus, wrestling: Wethy led the Explorers to a first-place finish at the Springstead Duals.
Alain Espinosa (130), Martavis Frazier (135), Diddley Weche (152), Normondo Harris (160) and Julian Martinez, Pace, wrestling: All won individual titles and led Pace to a first place finish at the Jacksonville Five-Star Classic over the weekend.
