On 20 occasions, St. Thomas Aquinas' talented senior class has taken the Piccolo Stadium turf for a regular-season game.

For the 19th and final time Friday, they walked off the field with a victory.

The defending national champions closed out a perfect regular season with a nationally televised demolition of Cypress Bay, throttling the Lightning 35-0 on Senior Night.

Not surprisingly, many of the 40 members of the Raiders' Class of 2010 keyed the rout.

Quarterback Jacob Rudock entered the season as an unknown, sitting behind Ryan Becker the past two years. But after 10 games, he has near-flawless command of the Raiders' multiple offense.

Rudock completed 11-of-12 passes for 187 yards and two scores and helped preserve the Raiders' 34-game winning streak in a game that aired on both the CBS College Sports Network and local radio.

St. Thomas' last loss: a defeat at the hands of Deerfield Beach in 2007. The Bucks also beat the Raiders in 2006, which was the senior class' only home loss in four years.

The Raiders dominated Cypress Bay in every facet of the game, outgaining the Lightning 271-107 and scoring touchdowns on defense and on special teams.

St. Thomas, which wrapped up its 13th consecutive district title last week, will take on Coral Springs in the first round of the playoffs.

The Lightning (5-5) limps into the postseason as the runners-up of District 11-6A.

Cypress Bay went three-and-out to start the game, and then St. Thomas went to work at its own 6-yard line.

The poor field position was only a slight inconvenience, as quarterback Rudock directed an eight-play scoring drive, capped by a 4-yard touchdown run by James White.

The drive's key play: a 43-yard pass from Rudock to Phillip Dorsett.

The throw hung up a bit on Rudock, but sailed over Cypress Bay safety Damien Brown's fingertips and into Dorsett's breadbasket.

After another Lightning punt, Rudock remained sharp, completing a 25-yard flare pass to Dorsett and then connecting with a wide-open James Dolan for an 18-yard score. The touchdown was the first of Dolan's career.

Cypress Bay managed a first down on its next possession, but only after 20 yards worth of penalties by the Raiders on fourth down.

But the drive stalled immediately thereafter, and Rashad Greene returned the ensuing punt 73 yards down the left sideline to the end zone. In a flash, the Raiders led 21-0 midway through the second quarter.

The Lightning strung together its best drive of the half in the waning moments of the second quarter, but Cody Riggs preserved the shutout when he blocked Derek Soven's 27-yard field-goal attempt.

• Taravella 17, Coral Springs 14: Devon Wright ran for 255 yards on 30 carries and three touchdowns, including the game-winner on a 10-yard score with 7:14 remaining to lead the Trojans (4-6) to an upset victory over the playoff-bound Colts at Coral Springs.

Coral Springs (7-3) had taken a 14-10 lead when Junior Paige took the direct snap and ran 45 yards for the score on the second play of the fourth quarter of the annual Mayor's Cup matchup, which Taravella leads 17-12.

The Trojans answered on their next two possessions, starting with Wright's 1-yard run to make it 17-14.

• Northeast 6, Blanche Ely 0: With the tip of a finger, Bryant Dubose ruined Ely's shot at a perfect season. Dubose returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, and defensive-minded Northeast (5-5) beat Ely.

Dubose's pick was the second of the night off Ely quarterback Mike German, who threw two more before the game ended. German finished with 63 yards passing and couldn't overcome the turnovers for the Tigers (9-1).

• Hollywood Hills 28, McArthur 14: Tied at 14, the playoff-bound Spartans (6-4) scored 14 fourth-quarter points at Cooper City High School.

They mounted an 11-play, 60-yard drive with sophomore quarterback Daniel May completing an 11-yard pass to Jamal Cook and a 24-yarder to Ronald Vargas, setting up Luis Vazquez's winning touchdown on a 2-yard run.

On the ensuing kickoff, Cook recovered a pooch kick by Sebastian Alvarez at the McArthur 33, and Hills turned that into a backbreaking touchdown on a De'andric Gray 5-yard scoring run with 9:07 remaining.
