Aquinas boys win first soccer match
The St. Thomas Aquinas boys' soccer team defeated host Deerfield Beach 3-2 on Monday.
Joel Ericksson led the Raiders (1-0) with two goals, and Kevin Alexander added another. The Bucs' Stevenson Sejour and Luiz Medrios each had a goal.
SIGNINGS
Killian senior pitcher Jake Werdesheim signed with Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference this week. Belen's Emilo Pastor signed a national letter-of-intent to play baseball with the University of Pennsylvania. As a junior, Pastor hit .348 with nine RBI. Wolverines' right-handed pitcher Andres Wiltz singed with the University of St. Louis. Last season, Wiltz went 5-4 with 70 strikeouts and hit seven home runs and drove in 23 runs.
LaSalle's Anthony Tzamtzis signed with North Carolina State. Gabby Amor signed with Belmont Abbey.
BOYS' SOCCER
University 8, Summerset 0: Conner Revende and Calvin Revende led the Suns (3-0) with two goals each. Jeromy Katz had a goal.
Cardinal Gibbons 2, Monarch 2: Matt Ayrolla and Dave Barbour led the Chiefs (1-0-2) with a goal each. Jason Ferrara and Vincenzo Padula each had an assist. For Monarch (2-1-1), Raphael Ferreira had a goal and Felipe Nasciento scored as well.
Ely 2, Miramar 1: Andy Contreras scored a goal, and Daurin Herrera had an assist. Ely is 1-1-1.
Cypress Bay 6, McCarthy 0: Diego Schevrich scored three goals. Thomas Granicto had one. Gialiao Mencia had one goal. Cypress Bay is 2-0-1.
Pine Crest 7, Westminster 1: Kyle Burgs had three goals and an assist. Andrew Logan had two goals and one assist. Matt O'Connor played strong defense. Pine Crest is 2-0.

University 2, Sommerset 0: Erika Wilmer led the Suns (3-1-1) with a goal and an assist. Raquell Newman added a goal.
Pine Crest 1, Coral Springs 0: Kaitlyn Lokeinsky led the Panthers (3-2), scoring the game-winning goal. Goalkeeper Lucy Kruyff recorded her first shutout.
St. Thomas 10 , Deerfield 0: Ashley Oswald and Kristen Marciniak led the Raiders (3-0) each with goals. Ana Cukia had a goal.
South Plantation 4, Piper 0: Alexis Blumberg led the Paladins (5-1) with two goals. Polly Campos and Margo Vollman each added a goal.
Archbishop McCarthy 2, Cypress Bay 2: Casey Zacharias led the Mavericks (3-1-1) with a goal and an assist. Chrissy Gartaz had a goal and Britney Williams added an assist.
