Down by six when DeAndre Miles hit Byron Connor for a 27-yard touchdown pass on fourth down with a minute to go, Miami Springs thought it had won. But when the extra point bounced off the right upright, the game went to overtime.
And that’s when Reagan won as the Bison scored two touchdowns — both on Tyler Ibarra short scoring runs. Springs (4-4, 4-3) scored on its first possession but was backed up to the 13 on its second possession and a fourth-and-goal pass in the end zone fell incomplete, giving Reagan (5-3, 5-2) the District 16-7A win at Milander.
Luis Yepez: Led Reagan’s vaunted ground attack with 130 yards on nine carries and two touchdowns.
Never miss a local story.
DeAndre Miles: Miami Springs quarterback completed 12 of 20 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns.
