Brion Sanchious threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Sandro Joseph with 3:03 left in the game and converted on a two-point conversion to lift Northeast to a 15-13 come-from-behind victory over visiting Boyd Anderson.
Sanchorious bobbled the snap on the point after and rolled out and hit Joseph in the corner of the end zone for the decisive points.
Northeast (1-4, 1-1) earned its first victory of the season while Boyd Anderson falls to (0-6, 0-1).
“He made a great play on the ball for the touchdown,” Sanchious said. “He’s like a ghost he just shows up and makes big plays.”
Never miss a local story.
Joseph redeemed himself after he dropped a sure touchdown earlier in the game after outrunning the secondary, and could not come down with the ball that dropped perfectly in his hands.
“It was really sweet to make the play and get us the victory,” Joseph said. “Everyone did their job on that play, and all I had to do was catch the football.”
