After winning last week’s clash of Miami-Dade County’s finest against Central by the slimmest of margins, it was a relief for Booker T. Washington to win more convincingly.
Quarterback Maurice Alexander went 14 for 20 for 160 yards and two touchdowns, and Mark Walton rushed for 85 yards and two more scores as Booker T. cruised to its state-best 30th consecutive win, defeating Carol City 38-14 on Friday night at Traz Powell Stadium.
Alexander led the usually quick-striking Tornadoes (4-0) on a 14-play, 73-yard opening drive that took 6:21 off the clock and set the tempo early.
“It was good to see something different from my offense in being able to sustain a long drive,” Booker T. coach Tim Harris Jr. said. “We’re going to need that in big games going forward.”
Quarterback Stephen “Buckshot” Calvert went 25 of 43 for 192 yards and two touchdowns for Carol City (0-3).
