Southridge shuts out Miami High to win Luis Brande Spring Break Classic Championship

The Southridge baseball team dominated in the Luis Brande Spring Break Classic Championship by defeating Miami High 10-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

Erick Lopez (1-2) took home the win for the Spartans (13-2) and struck out seven batters. Garrett Houtz went 2 for 3 with two doubles. Rambert Paulino also went 2 for 3 with an RBI against the Stingarees (11-5).

In the semifinals, JP Castaneda went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a double to lead Southridge to a 8-0 win over Southwest 8-8. Jose Zapata went 2 for 3 with a double. Austin Dreher (2-0) took the win.

The Spartans will take on Coral Reef at 3:30 p.m, Tuesday.
