South Miami senior forward Joseph Lopez played a pivotal role in leading the Cobras back to the Class 8A state final four this season. On Friday, Lopez was recognized for his efforts, earning All-State first-team honors when the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches and Source Hoops released its Class 8A selections.

Lopez, a Winthrop commitment, averaged 18 points and 14 rebounds per game to lead South Miami to state for the second consecutive season.

Miami Beach 7-1 center Zach Brown earned second-team honors after a freshman season in which he led the Hi-Tides to the regional semifinals.

Weston Cypress Bay senior guard Ross Udine earned third-team honors and was the lone Broward County selection.
