Miami Country Day boys’ basketball coach Bryan Parizo steps down after 25 years

Miami Country Day boys’ basketball coach Bryan Parizo has stepped down after 25 years coaching the Spartans.

Parizo amassed over 400 wins, five district championships and two regional finals appearances during that span. Parizo will remain the school’s Associate Athletic Director, as well as lower school physical education teacher.

TRACK AND FIELD

The Northwestern girls’ track and field team continued its dominant start to the season, winning the 18th annual Bill Wilson Relays over the weekend in Sebastian.

The Bulls swept six relay events (400, 800, 1,600, 3,200, 300 shuttle, and 1,000-meter sprint medley relays) and won seven individual events led by Lloydricia Cameron’s sweep of the shot put and discus. Ricardia Cooper (800 meters), Charlease Rodgers (300 hurdles), Briana Eskridge (high jump), Lakayla Harris (long jump), Taranique Alexander (triple jump) all won individual events.

Northwestern also won the Sam Burley Hall of Fame Invitational and Louie Bing Invitational titles this season and are vying for a state-record 11th state championship.
