Of the 11 Miami-Dade County teams remaining in the boys’ basketball playoffs, few would argue Westwood Christian has the toughest obstacle to overcome in the regional semifinals.

The Warriors (20-7), who moved up to Class 3A following a state runner-up finish in Class 2A last season, take on undefeated Sagemont (29-0), ranked No. 25 nationally by MaxPreps.com, in a Region 4-3A semifinal at Sagemont.

All regional games start at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

OTHER GAMES

• Region 4-8A semifinal — Coral Gables at South Miami: Fresh off Joseph Lopez’s double-double against Southridge, the Cobras look to beat Gables for the third time this season.

• Region 4-8A semifinal — Miami Beach at McArthur: After winning its first regional playoff game since 1969, Beach will try to get a step closer to state against a solid McArthur squad.

Region 4-6A semifinal — Mater Academy at Norland: Can Mater (24-4) upend the two-time defending state champions at their place?

Region 4-4A semifinal — Ransom Everglades at Monsignor Pace: Can Trey Morning and the Raiders back to state hold off C.J. Fisher and the high-scoring Spartans, averaging 84 points per game, to return to state?

Region 4-2A semifinal — Champagnat Catholic at Grandview Prep: The Lions have become one of Class 2A’s best again. But now they must take down the defending Class 2A champs, whom they already lost to by 13 earlier this season.
