The Thoroughbreds (5-3, 3-1 district 13-8A) blanked the Lightning (1-7, 1-3) 42-0 to pick-up a homecoming victory Saturday at Milander Park.
“We did exactly what we wanted to do,” said coach Marc Berman. “We wanted to win all three phases of the game [offensive, defensive and special teams].”
FIU oral commitment Henry Bussey scored Hialeah’s first two touchdowns on a 6-yard run and a 22-yard run in the first quarter. Quarterback Alin Edouard, who is orally committed to Syracuse, scored a pair of second quarter touchdowns on an 11-yard run and an 18-yard pass to Tafari Myrthil. Hialeah led 28-0 at the half.
Bussey scored a third touchdown on a 41-yard run in the third quarter. Edouard also picked-up his third score in the third quarter thanks to a 40-yard pass to David Francis.
With the loss, Krop is eliminated from playoff contention. Hialeah could not clinch a playoff berth, or be eliminated from playoff contention with the win.
