Did Columbus beat Miami, or did the Stings beat themselves? Both.

Miami’s first drive led to a blocked field goal that was recovered by Joe Rodriguez, who then returned it 80 yards for a Columbus touchdown.

Six more turnovers by the Stings helped Columbus, which scored five more touchdowns and put the game away 42-0 by halftime.

There was no scoring in the second half.

Quarterback Tucker Beirne and wide receiver Sasha Kelsey proved to be an effective red-zone combo, scoring two touchdowns on two completions for a total of 28 yards.

The game was punctuated by an interception returned for a touchdown by Explorers linebacker Nick McBeath.
