Westminster rolls at Smoothie King Invitational

Westminster shut down the Smoothie King Invitational by defeating Naples, Ferguson and Gulf Coast on Friday night.

The Warriors started the invitational strong with a 25-13, 25-17 victory against Naples. Nikkia Benitez led with five kills and two digs. Kelsey Taylor followed with 18 assists, 12 digs and two aces. Susie Forbes registered eight digs, three aces and eight points.

Westminster continued dominating the court and defeated Ferguson 25-10, 25-15. Sylvia Hernandez registered 13 kills, three aces and 11 digs. Jenny Ceballos had seven kills and 14 assists. Courtney Clausell registered four kills and two blocks for the night.

Finally, the Warriors went out one last time to take down Gulf Coast 25-13, 25-11. Kat Salgado led with four kills and a block. Jess Moo Young assisted with eight points and six digs, and Quinn Blanco registered five assists and four digs.

The Warriors improved to 18-3.

Archbishop Curley defeated Florida Christian 12-25, 25-32, 25-13, and 25-19.

Micquel Goins led with five aces, 12 kills and five digs.

Alyssa Lambert registered two aces, four kills, 12 assists and five digs. Shelbie Charles had two aces, eight kills, two assists and one dig.

FOOTBALL

Hillel had a big win as it defeated Berean 32-28 on Thursday night.

Alex Froimzon led the way for Hillel and scored five touchdowns.

He was 21 of 30 passing with 289 yards.

Nathaniel Rub contributed with 11 receptions for 126 yards.

Lior Barhai had seven receptions for 141 yards and scored two touchdowns.
