Sean Carranza led a relentless Ferguson rushing attack that marred Sunset’s homecoming as the Falcons cruised to victory in a game played at Southridge.
Carranza, the shifty 5-9, 175-pound running back, finished with 237 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries.
“He makes the most of the opportunities given to him,” Ferguson coach Gene Chew said. “He doesn’t stop moving his feet. It’s a tribute to our O-line and to how hard everybody blocks downfield.”
Senior linebacker Alexander Pace put the exclamation point on the blowout victory for Ferguson (4-3, 2-1 District 15-8A) with a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Quarterback Juwell Laguerre scored the lone touchdown for Sunset (1-6, 0-3) on a 4-yard keeper.
