Hialeah running back Henry Bussey wanted to erase memories of last week’s loss to Southwest. Instead, he obliterated them.
The senior rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown and caught another scoring pass as the T-Breds rolled over rival Hialeah-Miami Lakes 49-0 Thursday at Milander Park.
“We had a bad taste in our mouth after last week,” Bussey said. “We wanted to come out here and show we were better than that.”
Hialeah (2-1) did just that, scoring on all five of its first-half possessions against the Trojans (0-3). Former University of Miami commit Alin Edouard threw for 91 first-half yards and three scores and ran for another.
“With district games starting next week, it was important we come out and have a good performance, and we did just that,” T-Breds coach Marc Berman said.
But the night belonged to Bussey, whose stock continues to rise after he missed most of last season with a hamstring injury.
“Last season was tough,” he said. “I just want to get as much exposure as possible this season.”
