Johnny Ford rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns in the first half to lead Coral Gables (3-0) over Homestead (0-3) Friday night at Harris Field.
"My O-line was firing and when they do that, I come out firing too," Ford said.
The win is the 15th consecutive regular season victory for Coral Gables. The 56 point score matched a school record for points scored in a game.
Kevin Romer had two catches for 103 yards. Both were touchdowns. Quarterback Shemar Munroe throw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Romer and also rushed twice for 91 yards and a touchdown.

The second half was played with a running clock. With just under four minutes left in the fourth quarter Jamar Thompkins broke a 55-yard touchdown run to set up an extra point by Sebastian Riella which matched the school record for points.
Thompkins rushed for 79 yards on four carries. Tonie Dorsey led Homestead with 44 rushing yards on eight carries.
"We need to keep playing as a team. We can win the district, we need to beat Columbus twice and I think we have the power to do it," Romer said.
The Coral Gables defense forced three fumbles, four sacks, one interception and only allowed Homestead three first downs.
