It was anything but pretty, but Homestead came away with a win over Boyd Anderson at Harris Field.
The Broncos’ lone score came in the second quarter when Prince Cowart, a wide receiver taking a snap at quarterback, ran for a 2-yard score late in the first half.
Both teams struggled with costly turnovers and bad snaps, combining for more turnovers (eight) than total points scored. The Broncos committed six of those turnovers, two of them inside the Cobras’ 10-yard line.
“The turnovers were ridiculous, but that’s what inexperience on offense will do to you. I’ve never seen anything like it,” Homestead coach Larry Coffey said.
