Anthony Moten, a 6-4, 275-pound defensive tackle from Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, announced his oral commitment to UM on Wednesday night over Florida State and South Carolina.

“It came down to my family, and I’ve been knowing [UM defensive coordinator] coach [Mark] D’Onofrio and [UM] coach [Al] Golden since my freshman year,” Moten said on a video posted online by South Florida High School Sports.

Moten, who was once a University of Florida commitment from April to July earlier this year, becomes the 28th commitment to an already vaunted 2014 recruiting class.

Blanche Ely’s Lance Tejada III used the signature flick of the wrist that made him an elite pass-first point guard to sign with East Carolina .

“It’s a real great day for me,” said Tejada, who was flanked by his father, Lance II, and mother Deidre. “It feels real good after all the work I put in since the third grade and it’s like I accomplished a big goal, but I don’t feel like I’m finished or anything like that.”

Tejada averaged 12 points, 8.2 assists and 2.6 steals to help the Tigers win their second consecutive Class 7A state title.
