Quarterback Danarious Graham had two rushing touchdowns and threw for a third, and running back Aeron McNeal rushed for 172 yards to pace Deerfield Beach (9-0, 7-0) to a 42-16 win at South Plantation (6-3, 5-2) on Friday that earned the Bucks the District 11-8A title.

The Bucks dominated the second half, outscoring the Paladins 28-0 after owning the lead for just 12 seconds in the opening half.

Deerfield scored on its first possession in the second half to take the lead for good. The Bucks drove 64 yards in eight plays with the drive capped off on a fantastic play from Graham.

“(Graham) played with a lot of confidence,” Deerfield Beach coach Allen Jackson said. “He came to me at half time and said ‘Coach I’ve got this.’”

With Graham directing the offense, McNeal served as its engine. He carried 25 times and was rewarded on his final touch, breaking free for a 72-yard TD run.

Graham also rushed for 64 yards with the two touchdowns and finished 8 of 13 passing for 103 yards. Brandon Powell rushed for 40 yards with a touchdown but was bothered by a stinger which he suffered in the first half.

The loss dropped South Plantation into a tie with Monarch and Taravella for the district runner-up spot. The tiebreaker will be held Monday at Monarch.
