Dillard all-purpose 5-10 forward Briana Green has made an oral commitment to Southern University.
Green, who is seeking her fourth consecutive state title with the Panthers this season, said style of play and aggressive recruiting pitch swayed her decision to choose the Jaguars over Morgan State, Grambling State, UNC Asheville and North Alabama.
“I didn’t know what to expect when I went to Southern,” Green. “I went there and loved it. It felt like home. It came down to me loving the school and loving the coaching staff. I feel comfortable spending four years there and getting my degree.”
Although Green, who will major in computer engineering, averaged 10.5 points last season, her bigger value was on the defensive end where her size and athleticism allowed her to be a shut-down defender at all five positions.
