With a major district matchup looming next week against St. Thomas Aquinas, Plantation (7-1, 3-0 District 15-7A) beat host Northeast on Friday.

When the Colonels needed a big play late in the fourth quarter with Northeast driving, senior Chris Lammons came up with the defensive play of the game.

On the final drive for Northeast (2-6, 1-1 District 14-7A), which was trailing 20-12, with 1:56 remaining, Northeast quarterback Brion Sanchious drove the Hurricanes down to the Colonels’ 8

with 17 seconds left. Sanchious scrambled and threw to the flat. Lammons stepped in front for the 95-yard interception for a touchdown.
