For at least a half, Hallandale was in its toughest game of the season against Riviera Beach Suncoast.

Leading 16-10 to begin the third quarter, Hallandale (7-0, 4-0 District 15-6A) went to the running game as backs Treyvon Rolle and Taj McGowan scored consecutive touchdowns in less than a minute to begin the quarter as Hallandale defeated visiting Suncoast (1-5, 1-3) at Hallandale Beach.

Rolle led Hallandale with 90 rushing yards and a score. McGowan followed with 45 rushing yards and a score.

To begin the third quarter, McGowan capped a 5-play drive on a 11-yard touchdown run to put Hallandale up 23-10.

On the ensuing kickoff, Hallandale forced a fumble and two plays later Rolle sprinted into the end zone for a 22-yard touchdown to put the game out of reach.

Defensively, Hallandale forced Suncoast into three turnovers in the game.

Suncoast held an early 7-2 lead in the first on a 7-yard pass from Matt Dame to Jahquavius Wallace.

Hallandale’s offense in the first half was not in rhythm as they committed 7 penalties for 60 yards and Suncoast forced Hallandale into three three-and-outs.

Hallandale retook the lead on a 6-yard run by Richie Cooper. Hallandale quarterback Tyler Huntley had an efficient passing game as he threw for 144 yards and a touchdown and rushed for a touchdown in the second to give Hallandale a 16-7 lead.
