Flanagan (5-0) defeated an overmatched McArthur (1-3) side 56-13 Friday night on McArthur’s home field.
Falcons quarterback Ryan Stanley dominated the Mustangs in the first half, accumulating 271 passing yards and five touchdowns through the air. Backup quarterback Stanford Samuels took over for Stanley in the second half.
The Mustangs scored the first touchdown of the game with a 97-yard touchdown pass by Janarvis Pough. Flanagan went on to score 42 unanswered before McArthur returned a fumble 85 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
“We fought,” Flanagan coach Devin Bush said. “We did all the things we wanted to do.”
