It'll be interesting to see what the Miami Dolphins' active roster looks like Nov. 29 in Buffalo.

Dolphins coach Tony Sparano admitted Friday afternoon he isn't sure if the Dolphins will have center Jake Grove (ankle) or nose guards Jason Ferguson (knee) and Paul Soliai (ankle) healthy.

``I don't have anything new on Ferguson,'' Sparano said. ``We're kind of still in a wait-and-see mode with a lot of these guys.''

He seemed certain he'll have running back Ricky Williams and that Williams can handle a workload like Thursday night's for the next six games -- even though Sparano sat Williams for the Dolphins' final possession. Williams ran 22 times, caught two passes and had two other passes throw to him.

Sparano said Williams got ``dinged up'' on Miami's next-to-last possession, which is why Lex Hilliard came in to run the ball after the Dolphins recovered Carolina's onside kick up 24-17.

With the plethora of injuries requiring so much position-switching on special teams, plus remembering Sunday's blocked extra point against Tampa Bay and feeling the extra point after the Dolphins' last touchdown came too close to being blocked, Sparano ran Hilliard on fourth down instead of pooch-punting.

The injuries to Ferguson and Grove, the anchors of the Dolphins' lines, could be the most damaging. If Ferguson is out for an extended stretch -- and he's a 35-next-Saturday, 310-pounder with a knee problem -- and Soliai isn't ready to come back, Randy Starks and Tony McDaniel will play nose guard.

Behind Grove is Joe Berger (the two are considered by the other linemen to have the most football smarts). When both went down Thursday night, utility offensive lineman Nate Garner played center after practicing snaps on the sideline.

Meanwhile, Sparano said running back Ronnie Brown's foot surgery ``went well'' Friday morning. Asked if he expected Brown to be ready for the 2010 season, he paused before repeating with a small smile, ``The surgery went well. I don't have a crystal ball . . .''
