Former NXT wrestler Danny Burch -- who competes for Full Impact Pro in Florida on the WWN -- joined The Roman Show.
Burch, now wrestling as Martin Stone on the indies, said it’s an exciting time to be in the industry and discussed a recent match with WWE Hall of Famers Bushwhacker Luke and Koko B. Ware.
Stone will be part of a six-man showcase when Full Impact Pro on the WWN presents Everything Burns 2016 on Friday, Feb. 12 at The Orpheum in Ybor City, Fla.
Stone will team with the MSL Universe (Monster Tarver and Joss Hess with Mister Saint Laurent) to face Black Baron, Stitch Osiris and Odinson. The event will be streamed at www.wwnlive.com.
Never miss a local story.
South Florida’s Jonny Vandal will be in a rematch with Maxwell Chicago for the Florida Heritage Championship.
“I was in the independent scene in Europe for eight years.,” Stone said. “The independent scene has changed dramatically since when I got hired. Now everywhere is booming especially in Europe. You have WWN working with NXT. It’s only a good thing. It’s fun to be a part of it. The first place when I left England to the states, the first place I got a hold of was FIP.”
He said there is life after NXT or WWE.
“Yes, it is the biggest company, but there is always a place to hone your craft. That’s what the indies are for,” he said.
He also talked about his recent match in Miami where he and his tag team partner wrestled legends Koko B. Ware and Bushwhacker Luke.
“I got a huge learning experience,” he said. “I was told no matter who you work with you should be able to work anyone. For me it was a much slower place match than other shows, but those matches are to draw the crowd.”
